EDITORIAL 5 Distinguidosamigos, Hace ahora seis años que escribía la editorial de la que re- presentaba en aquel momento el inicio de unnueva etapa: la publicaciónde la llamada «tercera época» del boletín/revista del Reial CercleArtísticdeBarcelona. En sus líneas recordaba y reconocía el gran esfuerzo de tantas y tantas personas que habíanhechoposible la publicación y consolidaciónde todos aquellosnúmerosqueendiferentesmomentoshistóricosyde formamásomenosconstantesepublicaron.Resaltarquehace seis años también se dio un pasomás en lamodernización y creaciónde lanueva imagendel Cercle, desarrollandoel «ma- nual de estilo» que ordena y regula la utilizaciónde lamarca y rotulaciónde laEntidaden todo loque se refiereadifusión, comunicaciónypublicidad. Ha llegado el momento de dar un paso más y adecuarnos a los nuevos tiempos, a las nuevas tecnologías que día tras día avanzan auna velocidad trepidanteyde forma imparable. No podemos permitir queuna Instituciónquequiere convertirse en referente cultural y estar a la vanguardia de la contempo- raneidadquedepostergaday,porestemotivo,hemosdecidido apostar y poner en marcha una nueva publicación «digital» que se conforme comoun instrumentode información conun cambio importantede concepto, frescoy contemporáneo, útil a lavezque interesante, actual almismo tiempoquerespetuo- so con nuestra historia y tradición, y sobre todo, sin renun- ciaral rigoryprofesionalidadquesiemprehacaracterizadoal Reial CercleArtísticdeBarcelona. Traducida a tres lenguas, queremos ser ambiciosos y conse- guir llegar de inicio amás de50.000direcciones depersonas y entidades, tanto nacionales como internacionales, interesa- dasyvinculadasalmundode lacultura, difundiendonuestros valoresynuestramaneradeentenderel arte, de forma libree independiente, presentando y divulgando la realidad de una Institución que trabaja por la excelencia cultural desde 1881 ¡Graciasa todosporhacerloposible! Distinguished friends, Ithasnowbeensixyearssince Iwrote theeditorialofwhat then represented the start of anewage: thepublicationof the so-called ‘third stage’ of the Barcelona Royal Artistic Circle magazine. In these lines I remembered and recog- nised the great work of somany people that hadworked towards the publication and consolidation of all those issues that were publishedmore or less constantly at va- rious historical moments. I would also underline that six yearsagowe tookanotherstep towards themodernisation and creation of the Circle’s new image by developing the ‘styleguide’ that regulates theuseof thebrandand thesig- nage thereof, in all aspects relating topublishing, commu- nicationandpublicity. The timehascome togoastep furtherandadaptourselves tonew times, tonew technologies thatmove at a frenetic, unstoppablepace.Wecannotallowan Institution thatwis- hes tobecomea cultural referencepoint - tobeat thevan- guard of contemporaneity - to lag behind. For this reason wehavedecided to launchanew ‘digital’ publicationasan instrument for information with an important change of concept: something fresh andmodern, useful and interes- ting, up-to-date but also respectful of our history and tra- dition, and of course, without abandoning the rigour and professionalism thathasalwayscharacterised theBarcelo- naRoyalArtisticCircle. Translated into three languages, wewant to be ambitious and initially reach over 50,000 addresses of people and institutions, both national and international, all linked to and interested in the world of culture, spreading our va- lues and our way of understanding art, both freely and independently, bypresenting and circulating the realityof an Institution that hasworked towards cultural excellence since1881.
