Manyofyourworksdisplayanattitudecommited toourcurrent sociocul- tural surroundings; they are symbolic, timeless and rich in iconography. Wheredoyouget yourgreatest inspiration? Everywhere. Sometimes they aremy own preoccupations, messages I want tosendor taken frombooks I read, films that inspireme, and ima- ginative theories. Sometimes an atmosphere, an ambience, or a group of colours can trigger my sensitivities and from there I construct my discourse. What areyourmost recent projects? At themoment I have just finished a commission ot theDolors church inVic, a large-scaleproductiondepicting the themeof theworldyouth festival. Aftersomuch figurativeart, now is themoment to look fornew motifs to depict, with a growing interest in abstraction and simplicity with a clear will to change. Nowadays, I’m studying how to integrate newartistic resourcesandconcepts intomywork. Doyou think that the current stateof art should change radically? I think thatweartists todayare lucky in that there isnot a single trend that prevails over all others. The world is more connected that ever, andall thedistancesare shorter. Even so,weare still toodependent on economic interests that candistort andaffect theartmarketnegatively, whichconditionsourperceptionof goodart, and restricts thecreators’ real interests.█ JordiDiazAlamà El trond'Hamelin / El tronodeHamelín / Hamelin's throne. 2015 Sèrie:Reisde lacontemporaneïtat/Serie:Reyesde lacontemporaneidad/Series: Kingsof contemporaneity.
