functional improvement in almost all cases. For this reasonwe need to let everyone find their place and develop their gifts without making them all follow the same paths and ideas. In our processof adaptingoureducational system to theEuropean Higher Education Area (EHEA), something that takes on great importance is the change from teaching-based to learning- basedmethods, inwhichProject-BasedLearning (PBL)assumes an important position. With the PBL methodology, learning happens as part of the designing anddeveloping of projects on the part of the students. In this model the fundamental thing in terms of the quality of the project is that learning happens during the process of project execution, and not in the final result. The application of the PBLmethod requires exhaustive designing of activities that the students must complete that also allow the degree to be completed appropriately in terms of achieving the educational aims proposed via the skills and competencesacquiredby thestudents. For this reason, asnoted byValeroandNavarro (2008), it is especiallyappropriatewhen adapting theECTS systemdefined in theEuropean convergence project to create theEHEA. Project-BasedLearningprovides for personalisationbygiving real relevance tod iversity. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project-based_learning http://upcommons.upc.edu/bitstream/handle/2099/1 1788/a35.pdf Diversity is the main characteristic of the target t hat the course is aimed at: over-12swith orwithout experience in art. The students’ universe of skills obliges us to create an open programme that runs at the rhythm of the individual. For this reason, training is personalised and the rhythm is adapted to each individual and their circumstance. The course is structured around an ambitious programme that seeks tocover theparticularaspectsrevelant toaspecificperiod thatmightaffect the individualwithin thehistoryofhumanityso as tounderstand theart thatwehave, and try to interpret it via theartisticworks completedby the student under the influence of theparticularperiodstudied.Wehavebroken theprogramme up into 33 periods or styles, chronologically sequenced for greater comprehension, which we call ‘credits’ so as to follow universitynomenclature, divided into threeparts. The first part covers pre-History to the modernity of the Renaissance, the second from Baroque to the Avant-Garde, and finally, the third fromSurrealism to thecurrentday. Each credit is obtained via the historical introduction to each period, time or style to be studied, trying to understand the background theartists lived in, andhow this context influenced them to create their artworks. From there, the student will prepare an artistic project that defines the ‘what’ and ‘why’ of their ideaandwillhavetocreateanoutlineof the famousartistic representations of the period and then choose one of them to use it as amodel to complete a practical interpretation - an art work. Thenwe start the creative process that initiates the how process: how to interpret theworkwith sketches, photographs, installation art, montages, and so on, so as to execute the final project and present it in the best possible conditions in terms of referents and interpretation, as well as the techniques and actions. Finally, eachworkwill beevaluatedor critiqued. The aim of the course is interdisciplinary artistic learning from different periods/styles that arts has brought to us throughout history. Establishing a method based on artistic projects referencedononeof theartworks chosen, the students then interpret it according to their own free will with their tutor’s guidance. Interdiscpilinarity means learning different disciplines (subjects) as studied in Fine Art faculties in any university intheworld, buttaughttogetherenbloc. That istosay, wewill be interested in the culture, sociology, politics, religion, philosophy, economy, scienceandartisticrepresentationofeach periodwe study, and via thework selected, we shall go deeper intoanything thatmighthave influenced theartist/authorof the workconcerned. We introduce the technical aspectsof drawing, painting, photography, digital art, ceramicsorsculpture intoour interpretationsoas toelaborate thework’screativeprocess. So, by the end of the course, almost all artistic techniques should have been covered by studying the art styles of each period and therefore, the final project critique serves to correct and broaden theprocesses involved. Workshops and seminars have been set up at various times to go deeper into the technical and theoretical aspects of artistic practice. A route through knownhistory fromprehistory to the latest trendsviaartwill be themain themeof this course. The tutorials led by Fine Art and/or Art History graduateswill be personalised, individual and at the student’s request. An introduccion to the period or style, the choice of the artistic project, the creative process using the techniques and the presentation and critique of thework. Other consultations can be done electronically upon demand. We are even preparing themedia tobe able tooffer the course completelyONLINE for those that find it difficult tomove around to be able to follow thecourse. All the paperwork drawn up by the teachers and/or students will be the teaching materials for the course, available to the othermembers.Theaim is to learn fromoursuperiors(teacher/ student) andourpeers (student/student or teacher/teacher) in a two-way system. At theendof thecourse theywill receiveaDiplomaorBarcelona Art Institute certification, and their work will be promoted both in situ and virtually. Similarly, we are having our credits evaluatedatuniversity level. The entry requirements for theparticipants arebasic academic training and a personal interview, and you don’t need any previous artistic knowledge, although interest, skill and dedicationare ideal to follow theprogramme. Registration and the beginning of the course are always open thanks to the personalised nature of the training, and so the timetable and the lengthof the course aredown to the student. That is to say, each student takes the time they can afford, with no limits, to complete the credits. Theestimated length to finish the entire course is three years, if the student dedicates six to eighthoursaweek to it, although thiscanbeextendedbasedon their timededication.
