The opening on the 11th of May was a complete success, with numerous members and supporters of the Royal Artistic Circle - Barcelona Institute of Art present. The evening was enlivened by the wonderful Royal Artistic Circle chamber orchestra, who delighted us with touchingly emotional pieces. For such an event 41 artworks were selected from the 3 first credits of the course that were worthy of the admiration and valuation of those present, underlining the quality and execution of each of them. The event was recorded thanks to the collaboration of our press office MCS1990 into a video that can be seen via this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fElA2DpTW0 The media presence (the press, radio, TV and social media) has been impressive and thanks to it the Institut’s new teaching method has been spread and yielded results in terms of the uptake of new students that want to share their interdisciplinary art education with us by following the entire collection of human knowledge throughout history. We should note the effort made my some students in creating a portrait of the master Antonio López on the occasion of his visit to the Royal Artistic Circle - Barcelona Institute of Art. With drawings and paintings in various styles, they afforded a deep respect and recognition to the greatest representative of Spanish realism, who visited us on the 21st June 2017 to be awarded our institution’s highest distinction, the Gold Medal. It was a pleasure to have him in our workshops and to listen to his wise counsel. We must thank Luisa Noriega, the director of Llei d’Art, for her professionality in celebrating this fantastic event. A new academic year will start in July 2017. We think that it will be especially interesting due to the current lack of anything similar in the current provision of art teaching. This is an intensive teaching programme that applies an executive method to complete an artistic project. Once more, being able to understand the processes needed to convert a concept into an object from no specific historical basis. In sum, it is about successfully finishing an artwork just from the concept. It is aimed at those who desire or need to learn the professional tasks of an author and so choose to do this work professionally, or also at those professionals looking to get out of their comfort zone to evolve artistically. For all those declining whether to start the artistic Baccalauréat or Design or Fine Arts degrees, this course will provide a necessary reality check for them. It can also be useful for artists, professional or amateur, who are full of ideas that don’t quite bear fruit when trying to depict them. For this reason we have created a 160-hour course that can be completed over 1, 2, 3 or 4 months - depending on time availability - that is personalised and exclusive so as to complete a work of art with a method that is ordered, systematic and repeatable.
