Many of the greatest masterpieces in the history of world art depict scenes that sound provocative and uncomfortable for a culture that is still underdeveloped in terms of freedom of expression. However the people of Abu Dhabi consider the Museum as part of an expensive but clever diplomatic strategy aimed at promoting education and culture, a commitment to 'soft power' to influence certain political or economic interests using art. It is likely to be so and when the oil runs out, this Emirate will be able to safeguard its ships thanks to a new means of creating value, as this Museum undoubtedly is, as one of the most innovative and challenging recent projects in recent times. █ total of fifty-five individual cube-shaped buildings and twenty-three galleries. The dome, one hundred and eighty metres in diameter, is visible from the sea, and creates a cinematic effect based on the position of the Sun. And at night, all entire section called "the rain of light", made up of almost 8,000 stars, which can be seen from inside or outside. This is an impeccable continent with a future that is uncertain for many, considering that we are talking about a country whose cultural and, above all, religious guidelines could well stifle the revolutionary, rabble- rousing and subversive character so typical of art, and not just contemporary art.
