5 EDITORIAL E l Reial Cercle Artístic, en su incesante esfuerzo por consolidarse definitivamente en una institución de gran reconocimiento y vínculo social, referente en el escenario cultural de nuestro país, tiene la voluntad de seguir facilitando el acceso de la sociedad al mejor de los conocimientos artísticos, colaborando estrechamente con otras instituciones, fundaciones y entidades nacionales e internacionales, y elaborando estrategias que nos permiten ganar más prestigio, accediendo a extraordinarias colecciones artísticas como la recientemente clausurada de Alberto Durero. Ésta ha significado un punto de inflexión, de la que se han hecho eco todos los medios de comunicación, y gracias a cuya magnífica proyección, el Reial Cercle Artístic ha dado un gran salto hacia adelante en la línea de nuestras intenciones. Una muestra que ha apostado por el Cercle como un espacio dotado y preparado para este salto en referencia al prestigio y reputación. Ahora no debemos bajar el nivel, y vamos a trabajar duramente para seguir creciendo. Porque nuestra institución no se ciñe a una disciplina y a un proyecto artístico local, misión esencial de otras entidades culturales públicas del país, sino que es mucho más extensa, dado que dentro de los objetivos primordiales como institución destaca nuestra vocación de difusión, conducente a enriquecer culturalmente a la sociedad, y consideramos por ello trascendental seguir trabajando en esta línea para poder convertirnos también en sede base de exposiciones internacionales de primer nivel, que de otro modo resultaría difícil que el público en general pudiera visitar y al mismo tiempo apreciar y beneficiarse. Este tipo de actuaciones y oferta nos va a permitir perfilar una identidad muy definida como institución cultural de referencia en la ciudad y en el país, junto con otras muchas con las que compartimos idearios. La búsqueda de la excelencia debe seguir marcando nuestro camino, porque solamente así ampliaremos el alcance —y con ello también la trascendencia— de nuestra presencia internacional, algo de suma importancia para poder asumir nuevos retos y afianzarnos como es nuestro objetivo, en referente, asegurando con ello nuestra perdurabilidad y expansión. █ Prestigio: una cuestión de estrategia T he Reial Cercle Artístic, in its relentless effort to consolidate itself as an institution with great recognition and close social bond, as a reference in our country's cultural panorama, has the will to continue providing society with the best of artistic knowledge by collaborating closely with other institutions, foundations and national and international organisations and developing strategies that allow us to gain even greater prestige by providing access to extraordinary artistic collections such as the recently closed Albrecht Dürer exhibition. This has meant a turning point, which has been reflected in the media, and thanks to whose fantastic influence, the Reial Cercle Artístic has made a great leap forward in fulfilling our intentions. An exhibition that has opted for the Cercle as a space equipped and prepared for this leap forward in prestige and reputation. Now we must not lower our standards, and we will work hard to continue growing. Because our institution does not stick to a particular discipline and a local artistic project —which seems to be the mission of other public cultural organisations in our country— but rather it is much more extensive, given that our basic vocation as an institution is to disseminate, leading to culturally enriching society. And we therefore consider it very important to continue working in this line, so that we can also become the home of top-flight international exhibitions, as otherwise it would be difficult for the general public to visit them and simultaneously appreciate and benefit from them. This type of cultural action and provision will allow us to specify a highly defined identity as a cultural institution of reference in both Barcelona and Spain, along with the many others with whomwe share ideals. The pursuit of excellence must continue to shape our path, because only in this way will we expand the scope —and with it also the importance — of our international presence, something of the utmost importance to take on new challenges and strengthen ourselves as our objective is, to ensure our longevity and growth. █ Prestige: A matter of strategy ,s
