Perception in art: a note on the imaginal world We understand the imaginal world to be that which is between the empirical world and the world of abstract understanding. Like an intermediary, it is based on the ability to perceive the image or the representation; a world ontologically different from that of the senses or the world of the intellect. The sensorial representation of an image is the mental reproduction of an object through the senses, thus conferring a psychic reality. The imaginal world can only be penetrated by the conscience. Art is the vehicle through which the imaginal world is articulated according to the particular conscience that enters into it. When one enters the world, the conscience takes hold to channel the mental form or structure particular to a three-dimensional form or perception. This is the case with a painting, where the sensationalism we find, if not seek, makes sense. This is how the auto-existing plasma is visualised –a universal material substance, original and unique amongst everything that has been created– where all real or imaginary forms reside in its infinite levels of density, from the most subtle and diaphanous to the most solid in its multiple organisations. In this imaginal world the conscious understands the universe as a necessarily artistic process of self- creation that has the aim of being perceived; as such, everything that happens in any universe evolves in a process of artistic manifestation, and the conscience recognises itself through the process of art. Those that enter the imaginal world understand that the universe is a self-created whole, as an element of artistic revelation via the understanding of the experience of cosmic morphogenesis: i.e. the comprehension that the cosmos exists as an evolutionary process of form generation. Cosmic evolution begins with primary geometries and advances towards ever more complicated structures that are perceived as forms. We can ask ourselves: Does form exist in the absolute realm? Or, is form simply a function of perception? We shall consider these questions with an appropriate level of depth and we shall see that the cosmos evolves like stages of ‘complexification’ of the form. All form, in order for it to become known, is necessarily aesthetic. Forms are derived for underlying, intuitive radial geometries; these factors constitute a holistic perception derived from a process known as cosmic morphogenesis. When we understand the perception of this process as a whole, we shall be inundated with multiple sensations and revelations of the various levels and meanings of cosmic reality. De este modo se visualiza el plasma auto-existente ­–sustancia material universal, original y única de todo cuanto ha sido creado–, que en sus infinitos niveles de densidad, desde lo más sutil e incorpóreo a lo más sólido en sus múltiples organizaciones, residen todas las formas reales o imaginarias. En este mundo imaginal la consciencia capta el universo como un proceso de autocreación necesariamente artístico con el fin de ser percibido, por lo que, todo lo que ocurre en cualquier universo evoluciona en un proceso de manifestación artística, la consciencia se reconoce a sí misma a través del proceso del arte. Aquellos que entran en el mundo imaginal entienden que el universo es un todo autocreado. Un elemento de revelación artística por la captación de la experiencia de la morfogénesis cósmica, esto es, la comprensión de que el cosmos existe como un proceso evolutivo de generación de formas. La evolución cósmica empieza con geometrías primarias y avanza hacia estructuras cada vez más complejas percibidas como formas. Podemos preguntarnos ¿Existe la forma en el reino absoluto? o ¿la forma es simplemente una función de la percepción? Consideraremos estas preguntas con el nivel de profundidad adecuado y veremos que el cosmos evoluciona como etapas de complejificación de la forma. Toda forma, para que pueda ser conocida, es necesariamente estética. Las formas se derivan de geometrías radiales intuitivas y subyacentes; estos factores constituyen una percepción holística derivada de un proceso conocido comomorfogénesis cósmica. Cuando captemos la percepción de este proceso como un todo, seremos inundados con múltiples sensaciones y revelaciones de los diversos niveles y significados de la realidad cósmica.
