He has recently been awarded the Lorenzo the Magnificent medal at the Florence Biennial where he presented works that charmed both the public and the jury. Daniela Astone Small and medium formats are ideal for the new realist work of this young artist to shine. With portraits, scenes and landscapes she proffers her pictorial skill with a good control of expression. Wide and decisive strokes, plays of light and dark, chiaroscuros and suggestions of common framings tell us about the desire, the need to show off her capabilities. She uses her technical skills eclectically for themes of her surroundings as if they were exercises to refine her skills. Preparatory sketches of masterpieces yet to be painted, that we shall doubtless see soon. Astone is an outstanding example of the Italian/Florentine school, which she defends with the images she regales us with. El dominio del paisaje urbano y la magia de la luz nos transporta a entornos de ensueño. Ambientes y atmósferas de tiempos de prosperidad de las décadas posteriores a la gran guerra, de paz y esperanza. Con trazos y manchas poco definidos consigue concreción de entornos salidos de una escaleta de escenas de una película antigua en blanco y negro. Niega el color propio de la pintura como reivindicando el dibujo aún usando materiales de pintor. Recientemente premiado con la medalla de Lorenzo el Magnífico de la Bienal de Florencia donde presentó obras que encandilaron tanto a público como a jurado. Daniela Astone En pequeños y medianos formatos lucen las obras de nuevo realismo de esta joven artista. Entre retratos, escenas y paisajes nos muestra su destreza pictórica con buen manejo del gesto. Trazos amplios y decisivos, juegos de luz, claroscuros e insinuaciones de encuadres comunes nos informan del deseo, de la necesidad de dar a conocer su capacidad. Eclécticamente utiliza su bagaje técnico en temas de su entorno como si fueran ejercicios de perfeccionamiento. Esbozos preparatorios de grandes obras que están por venir y que seguro veremos en futuros próximos. Magna exponente de la escuela italiana/ florentina que defiende con las imágenes que nos regala. 85
